About Nuit des Arts

Created in 2010, La Nuit des Arts de Roubaix is a free artistic event that transforms the city into a vast contemporary art trail. In spring and December, around fifty Roubaix venues simultaneously open their doors: museums, galleries, shops, artists' studios, and unusual locations. More than 250 artists exhibit their works across all disciplines: painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics, and street art. Everyone is free to create their own itinerary for a unique nocturnal artistic stroll.

La Nuit des Arts: Roubaix transforms into an open-air gallery

Since 2010, Nuit des Arts has pursued the same ambition: to make art in all its forms accessible to as many people as possible by disseminating it throughout the city. This 100% free event makes Roubaix a unique place for artistic discovery, where art appears where you least expect it.

An original concept: art everywhere, for everyone

The principle is simple and powerful: for one evening, dozens of Roubaix venues become ephemeral exhibition spaces. Museums (La Piscine, La Condition Publique), galleries, cafes, bookstores, shops, restaurants, and even private apartments host the works of over 250 artists. Painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, ceramics, street art, installation, video: all disciplines are represented.

Two events per year

Nuit des Arts unfolds in two annual highlights:

  • The spring edition (May): a three-day weekend with a highlight on Saturday evening from 6 PM to 11 PM when all venues are open simultaneously.
  • The December edition: two weekends of artistic discoveries in the warm atmosphere of the holiday season, including the Nuits des Arts Lumineux with video-mapping projections on the city's iconic facades.

A free and personalized tour

There is no imposed visiting route. Each visitor creates their own itinerary based on their desires and discoveries. A map of participating venues is available online and distributed during the event, allowing you to locate exhibitions, performances, and workshops. Strolling through the streets of Roubaix, between exhibition venues, is an integral part of the artistic experience.

The Nuits des Arts Lumineux

For several years, Nuit des Arts has been enhanced by a spectacular light show. From December to April, the Light Trail invites visitors to explore Roubaix after dark, with video-mapping projections on the city's iconic facades. Art, local history, and technology blend in fascinating visual creations that transform architectural heritage into a giant screen.

Nuit des Arts — edition 2026

The 30th edition of La Nuit des Arts de Roubaix is expected in Spring 2026. Around fifty venues and over 250 artists will once again transform the city into an open-air gallery.

Spring 2026 Edition

Nuit des Arts returns in Spring 2026 for a new edition. Around fifty Roubaix venues will open their doors to host the works of over 250 artists. The free tour through the city, exhibitions in unusual locations, and artistic performances will once again make Roubaix an open-air gallery.
