La Pause Musicale is a free, weekly musical event in the heart of Toulouse: every Thursday at 12:30 PM, one or more artists from the regional scene take over the Salle du Sénéchal during lunchtime. Jazz, French song, world music, classical or pop: an eclectic program to discover freely, from January to June.

La Pause Musicale — 2026 season

La Pause Musicale is not a festival concentrated over a few days but a free weekly event: every Thursday at 12:30 PM (doors open at 11:45 AM), one or more artists from the Toulouse and regional scene perform at the Salle du Sénéchal, 17 rue de Rémusat, 31000 Toulouse. The 2026 season runs from January to June (the event takes a break in the summer and resumes in September).

Created in 2009 by Joël Saurin, bassist of the group Zebda, and supported by the APOIRC association in partnership with the City of Toulouse, La Pause Musicale offers a deliberately eclectic program: jazz, song, world music, classical, pop… in a spirit of relaxation and discovery.

Free admission, subject to availability.

La Pause Musicale, the Thursday lunchtime event in Toulouse

Since 2009, La Pause Musicale has offered a free concert every Thursday at 12:30 PM at the Salle du Sénéchal (17 rue de Rémusat, 31000 Toulouse). Created by Joël Saurin, bassist of the Toulouse band Zebda, this event has become an essential cultural “good deal” for the Toulouse lunch break.

It is not a festival concentrated over a few days, but a season of weekly concerts that extends from autumn to early summer (summer break, resumption in September). The deliberately eclectic program highlights the Toulouse regional scene while giving pride of place to world music: jazz, French song, traditional music, classical, pop…

On fine days, some editions may be held at the Maison d'Occitanie. The event is supported by the APOIRC association, in partnership with the City of Toulouse.
