Celebration of maritime and oyster-farming tradition in La Tremblade
The La Tremblade Port Festival celebrates the maritime identity of this oyster-farming town on the Charente Atlantic coast. Organized by Les Coureauleurs Trembladais in partnership with the Municipality, this festival brings together traditional old rigs and modern boats in the port's floating basin, creating a living picture of the local nautical heritage.
Throughout the day, the port comes alive with various maritime activities: exhibitions of old and modern boats on the quays, sailboat model building workshops, children's regattas, initiations to traditional sculling techniques, knot-tying and net fishing demonstrations. Stands from the SNSM, oyster farming associations, and traditional huts complete the discovery. The day concludes with a popular sardine feast accompanied by oysters and white wine, followed by concerts animating the port until the evening.
The La Tremblade Port Festival returns on Saturday, July 11, 2026, starting at 9:30 AM, on the Jean-Pierre Tallieu honorary quay of La Tremblade port. Organized by the Les Coureauleurs Trembladais association, this day celebrates maritime traditions and the culture of old rigs, with numerous old boats gathered in the port, entertainment all day long, a sardine feast, and an evening concert.
