Gastronomic celebration of seafood in Saint-Martin-de-Ré
For many years, the Shellfish Festival has marked the end of the summer season in Saint-Martin-de-Ré. Organized by the Cercle Nautique with the help of numerous local partners, restaurants, oyster farmers, and about eighty volunteers, this event brings together nearly 2,500 people each year at the magnificent port of Saint-Martin.
The festival honors local fishermen who land their fresh catches of the day. Visitors can purchase tickets at the port kiosks to taste a wide variety of shellfish and seafood: oysters, mussels, clams, scallops, all freshly prepared. These tastings are accompanied by musical entertainment with bands and dancers, creating a festive and convivial atmosphere.
The day is organized around several highlights: oyster tastings with aperitif from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., entertainment and games from 4 p.m., concerts and musical shows from 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., followed by a tombola and ball until 11 p.m. A complete celebration of the maritime traditions of the Île de Ré in a warm and authentic atmosphere.
The 17th edition of the Shellfish Festival will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at the port of Saint-Martin-de-Ré. Come celebrate seafood in a festive atmosphere with tastings, musical entertainment, and conviviality.
