The first yoga festival in Vendée, facing the ocean
Born in 2023 from the passion of three Vendée yogis — Maud Vinatier, Alexa Hogan, and Aurélie Kiefer — the La Vague Yoga festival quickly established itself as a unique event of its kind on the Atlantic coast. The ambition is clear: to contribute to the sharing and dissemination of yoga by taking advantage of the bright and rejuvenating setting of Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie.
For three days, the festival offers a rich and varied program that explores all facets of yoga and well-being. Festival-goers can take part in sessions of hatha yoga, vinyasa facing the sea, laughter yoga, acroyoga, aerial yoga, duo yoga, kundalini, Nordic yoga, sophrology, and relaxation. Introductory workshops on Ayurveda, Non-Violent Communication, and surfing complete the program. "Yoga bla-bla" sessions, thematic mini-conferences, stimulate reflection on the practice.
The festival takes place in three emblematic locations on the Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie waterfront. The Marie de Beaucaire hall, facing the port, is the beating heart of the event. A marquee next to it hosts indoor workshops. Finally, the belvedere offers a spectacular setting with the Atlantic Ocean as the only horizon, ideal for outdoor sessions at sunrise or sunset.
Beyond the yoga mats, La Vague Yoga cultivates a warm and friendly atmosphere. A village of artisans and creators offers jewelry, natural cosmetics, and yoga accessories. Two food trucks delight festival-goers with healthy and gourmet food. A massage area allows for extended relaxation between sessions. Ice baths and nature outings add a touch of adventure to this weekend of reconnecting with oneself and the environment.
The 4th edition of the La Vague Yoga festival will take place on June 12, 13, and 14, 2026, in Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie. Three days, five practice locations, over 100 hours of program, and more than 16 teachers gathered facing the Atlantic Ocean: the formula is expanding with a now assumed opening towards surf ("The only yoga & surf festival in Vendée").
For its fourth edition, La Vague Yoga asserts its identity as a "yoga & surf" festival — the only one in the region — and offers a program exceeding 100 hours of classes and workshops over three days, from Friday, June 12 (starting at 2 PM) to Sunday, June 14, 2026, inclusive.
The festival takes over five sites along the Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie seafront: the salle Marie de Beaucaire (15 Promenade de la Vie), the historical heart of the festival facing the port, the marquee and the teepee set up alongside it, the belvedere overlooking the ocean, and finally the Grande Plage (48 avenue Notre-Dame) for practices with feet in the sand and surf sessions.
More than 16 teachers, mainly from Vendée, lead about sixty classes and workshops. The practices cover a broader spectrum compared to previous editions: hatha yoga, vinyasa facing the sea, acroyoga, aerial yoga, duo yoga, kundalini, Nordic yoga, home board, Pilates, yin somatics, fly yoga, intuitive dance, mandala flow, art therapy, sophrology, spirotherapy, therapeutic hypnosis, gong baths, sound therapy, breathing, and relaxation. Surf makes its official entry into the 2026 program.
Beyond the mats, the 2026 edition offers a concert, a conference, therapeutic hypnosis sessions, a massage area, and an exhibitors' village bringing together creators, artisans, and brands committed to well-being. Surprises are also announced by the organization.
