2026 Edition — Saturday, September 19
The 17th annual Festival Les Givrés will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at the Givrand community hall, located on Rue de la Rousselotière. Doors open at 6:30 PM for a unique evening, continuing a tradition that began in 2006. The Pays de Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie tourist office expects an attendance of around 3,000 people.
Five bands on the bill
The Association des Jeunes de Givrand finalized its lineup on May 30, 2026, with the addition of Caravan Palace, who will be performing as part of their High Voltage Jazz Review tour. Joining them are La Rue Kétanou, returning nine years after their 2017 appearance; reggae beatmaker Fatbabs; the five-piece Vendée-based band Les 5 Gars; and Back to the Rock, who will roam the grounds on a cargo bike. Performance times have not been announced.
A secret theme
The festival transforms its decor every year (it was Gauls vs. Romans in 2025), and the 2026 theme remains under wraps. On August 15, organizers released a teaser featuring banners, drums, and swords, but offered no further details.
On-site
Free camping and parking, a bar and food stalls using the "pingouins" currency, an artist merchandise area, a first-aid station, and earplug distribution. Admission is free for children 12 and under when accompanied by a ticket-holding adult.

Les Givrés Festival: The Vendée Festive Spirit
It all began in 2004, when a group of young people from Givrand participated in the organization of the Festival Mer et Vie. Two years later, driven by the desire to create their own event, they launched the first edition of the Les Givrés Festival in 2006. Success was immediate: tickets sold out in a few weeks. Since then, the festival has continued to grow, now attracting nearly 2,500 festival-goers each year.
A Unique Concept: Music and Costumes
What sets Les Givrés apart from other Vendée festivals is its annual theme which invites the public to dress up. From Romans vs. Gauls in 2025 to Pirates in 2024, each edition offers an original universe with immersive decorations and surprises around every corner of the site. Costumes are strongly encouraged, transforming the festival into a giant musical costume party.
An Eclectic and Quality Program
In one evening, five bands take turns on stage to offer an intense musical journey. The program mixes rock, reggae, brass band, festive chanson, and world music. Over the years, the festival has hosted artists such as Danakil, Elmer Food Beat, Tagada Jones, Taïro, Hilight Tribe, 47Ter, and Celkilt, demonstrating a clear artistic standard.
A Festival Driven by its Volunteers
Les Givrés Festival is organized by the Association des Jeunes de Givrand (Givrand Youth Association), which mobilizes around 155 intergenerational volunteers each year. The preparation for each edition spans nine months, during which the team designs the decorations, organizes logistics, and refines the program. This collective work guarantees the authenticity and human warmth that have made the festival's reputation.
Georges, the Legendary Mascot
It's impossible to talk about Les Givrés without mentioning Georges, the giant penguin who has become the event's iconic mascot. Present at every edition, he embodies the offbeat and joyful spirit of the event, symbolizing a festival that doesn't take itself too seriously but takes the pleasure of partying very seriously.
