Music at the heart of Gétigné's heritage

Since 2010, the Les Petites Chapelles festival has become a must-attend event of the cultural season in Gétigné, a town in the Nantes vineyard located near Clisson. Organized by the City of Gétigné as part of the European Heritage Days, this free event open to all offers a series of intimate concerts each year in the three historic chapels of the town.

Three chapels, three atmospheres

The festival takes place in three remarkable religious buildings, witnesses to local history and Gétigné's architectural heritage:

  • Notre-Dame de Toutes-Joies — located in the place of the same name, this chapel offers a rural setting a short distance from the vineyards where the sun kisses the folle blanche grapes.
  • Notre-Dame de Recouvrance — dating from the 15th century and rebuilt between 1913 and 1919, this chapel with its neo-Gothic granite portal welcomes spectators in a space imbued with contemplation.
  • Sainte-Anne — nestled in the heart of the bocage, this third chapel completes the musical and heritage triptych of the festival.

Each chapel hosts four thirty-minute concerts throughout the afternoon, allowing the public to wander from one place to another and discover varied musical universes in unique acoustics.

An eclectic and demanding program

The festival's program favors ancient, baroque, and traditional music, while also opening up to repertoires from around the world. Over the years, the public has been able to discover a cappella vocal ensembles, Irish music duos, Iranian ensembles of Persian music, baroque music groups, harpists, trios exploring Breton and Celtic traditions, and ensembles of ancient Mediterranean music. This diversity is the richness of the festival, which succeeds in combining musical discovery and heritage valorization.

A convivial event rooted in the vineyard

With over 600 spectators welcomed each year, Les Petites Chapelles has built a loyal family and intergenerational audience, attracted by the free concerts, the quality of the programmed artists, and the incomparable charm of the venues. The festival is fully integrated into the cultural dynamic of the Nantes vineyard, a territory where built heritage, wine landscapes, and artistic creation mutually nourish each other. It's a great way to combine heritage and culture to discover or rediscover it.

Among the artists who have participated in the festival

Past editions have featured, among others: the Ensemble Vocal Méliades, the trio Imrama (Irish music), the Duo Menguy/Bérenguer (flute and guitar), Virginie Le Furaut (harp and voice), the Iranian quartet Bambadan, the Frères Paranthoen (traditional music from Morbihan), the Quatuor vocal Accolade, the Duo Jauvain/Grassot (accordina and baroque guitar), the ensemble Safar (ancient Mediterranean music), the duo Madamicella, and the Duo Iacob Măciucă & Simon Mary (violin and double bass).
