Founded in 1999 on the Île d’Yeu, the Les Berniques association hosts four days of concerts and performances in Port-Joinville every autumn during the Toussaint school holidays. The 2026 edition of Les Berniques en Folie has not yet been announced. As of mid-August 2026, the association has released neither dates nor a lineup, and their official website still displays the 2025 edition, which took place from October 22 to 25, 2025. Furthermore, the Île d’Yeu tourist office calendar, which is fully booked through December 2026, makes no mention of the festival.
2026 Edition
No dates or programming have been announced for 2026. The association's website remains focused on the 2025 edition; its last update on March 26, 2026, added photos and videos from that year, and no page for 2026 has been created. The Île d’Yeu tourist office calendar lists ten events between October 2 and October 28, 2026, followed by others in November and December, but the festival is not among them.
However, the association remains active. The Île d’Yeu town hall directory, updated on November 18, 2025, still lists them with the stated purpose of "organizing a multidisciplinary arts festival in October." The festival's Facebook page featured a post on May 22, 2026, announcing that the team would be running a refreshment stand.
Based on the previous four editions, dates and artist lineups are typically released between September 9 and September 30 on lesberniquesenfolie.fr and their Facebook page. Therefore, the 2026 program is expected to be announced in September.

Getting to the Île d’Yeu
The island is located 17 kilometers from the mainland. The Compagnie Yeu-Continent provides year-round service from Fromentine in La Barre-de-Monts: 30 minutes by high-speed catamaran or 70 minutes by cargo ship. The Compagnie Vendéenne operates crossings from April to early November from Fromentine, taking about 45 minutes. Their service from Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie only runs from April to the end of September, and the service from Barbâtre on Noirmoutier only operates in July and August; therefore, in late October, departures are from Fromentine. The tourist office strongly recommends booking crossings in advance throughout the year by calling 02 51 58 32 58.
By air
Oya Vendée Hélicoptère connects La Barre-de-Monts to the Île d’Yeu in less than 10 minutes. The Grand Phare airfield also welcomes private tourist aircraft.
Festival venues
The Casino, on Rue Neptune, for indoor shows. L’Escadrille, the BDM, the Quai 13, and the Les Fous Brassant micro-brewery for bar concerts.

A festival born in 1999 on the Île d’Yeu
The Les Berniques association was established in 1999 to bring cultural programming to the Île d’Yeu during the off-season. Since then, it has organized the Les Berniques en Folie festival during the Toussaint holidays. In 2019, the team celebrated the festival's 20th anniversary, and the 2022 edition marked its 21st year.
Four days, from Wednesday to Saturday
The festival runs over four days, from Wednesday to Saturday: October 23 to 26, 2019; October 26 to 29, 2022; October 25 to 28, 2023; October 23 to 26, 2024; and October 22 to 25, 2025.
Venues in Port-Joinville
Indoor performances are held at the Casino on Rue Neptune. Bar concerts take place at L’Escadrille, the BDM, the Quai 13, and the Les Fous Brassant micro-brewery. Street performances also take place around the port.
The spirit of the association
The association emphasizes conviviality, simplicity, and sharing, aiming to make culture accessible to everyone: most shows are free, and paid events cost between 5 and 15 €. Artists stay on the island for several days, sometimes with their families, sharing meals with volunteers and staying in hotels, municipal housing, or with local residents. The festival is committed to waste reduction: no disposable tableware, reusable cups and water bottles are used, and organic waste is donated to local chicken coops. Artists get around by bicycle.
