The Lamotte-Beuvron Film Festival: when cinema celebrates the human-animal bond
The Lamotte-Beuvron Film Festival, also known as 'The meeting of Man and Animal', is a unique film festival in France, entirely dedicated to the relationship between humans and animals. Created in 2018 by the Town of Lamotte-Beuvron, equestrian capital of Sologne, this festival explores through the seventh art the deep bonds that unite human beings with the animal world.
A festival in the heart of Sologne
The festival takes place every year at the end of November at the Le Méliès cinema in Lamotte-Beuvron, located at 12 rue de l'Allée Verte. This modern cinema offers an intimate and warm setting for the screening of films in competition. Sologne, a land of nature and traditions, is an ideal setting for a festival celebrating the human-animal relationship.
Seven films in competition
Each edition of the festival offers a selection of seven films in competition, chosen for the quality of their storytelling and the depth with which they address the relationship between humans and animals. The genres are varied: documentaries, fiction, animated films, short and feature films. A jury composed of film professionals and personalities from the animal world awards the prizes at the end of the festival.
Meetings and discussions
Beyond the screenings, the Lamotte-Beuvron Film Festival offers meetings with directors, producers, and jury members. These exchanges allow the public to discover the behind-the-scenes of film creation and to discuss with the artists their vision of the human-animal relationship. An inaugural ceremony launches the festival on Friday evening.
Free access for all
Entry to the Lamotte-Beuvron Film Festival is free for films in competition, allowing as many people as possible to enjoy this quality film programming. This free access reflects the Town of Lamotte-Beuvron's desire to offer an accessible and unifying cultural event.
