Artisanal Christmas market at the Abbaye de Pontlevoy in Loir-et-Cher
The Abbaye de Pontlevoy Christmas market takes place within the monumental setting of this former Benedictine abbey, located in the center of Pontlevoy, between Blois and Montrichard. It is organized by the parent-teacher associations (APEL) of the Le Prieuré de Pontlevoy school and the Saint-Joseph de Sambin school, who set up the market in the buildings bordering the Place du Collège, inside the abbey grounds.
More than forty exhibitors offer gift ideas, artisan crafts, local products, and seasonal delicacies. Creations by students from both schools are also on display.
Beyond the stalls, the day is a great opportunity to explore the site: guided tours of the abbey are available to visitors. Younger guests can enjoy pony rides right in the heart of the market area. Food and refreshments are available on-site throughout the day, and a candlelight concert brings the afternoon to a close inside the abbey.
