Landéda Crime Fiction Festival: Breton crime fiction in the spotlight

The Landéda Crime Fiction Festival is a literary event dedicated to crime novels, thrillers, and black literature, organized in the heart of the Pays des Abers in Finistère. Driven by the author collective « L'Assassin Habite Dans Le 29 » (LAHDL29) and supported by the municipality of Landéda, this festival offers a full day of meetings, exchanges, and signings between passionate readers and authors of the genre.

The Aber Wrac'h Semaphore: a maritime setting for crime fiction

The festival is held at the Aber Wrac'h Semaphore, a former maritime surveillance post converted into a cultural space, perched on the heights of the aber estuary. This historic site offers an exceptional panorama over the Aber Wrac'h and the north Finistère coast, an ideal setting for a literary event where maritime intrigues and coastal mysteries are never far away.

Twenty authors from Finistère gathered

Each edition brings together about twenty authors from all over the Finistère department. The diversity of genres represented is one of the festival's strengths: regional Breton crime fiction rooted in local landscapes and traditions, international thrillers, historical intrigue, crime graphic novels, fantasy crime fiction, humorous or philosophical crime fiction, and noir novels for both young adults and adults.

The collective « L'Assassin Habite Dans Le 29 »

The festival is organized by LAHDL29, a collective of crime novel authors based in Finistère. This dynamic network unites writers of the noir genre in the department and regularly organizes literary events, festivals, and meetings to promote Breton crime fiction and foster connections between authors and readers.

A new literary event in the Pays des Abers

Inaugurated in February 2026, the Landéda Crime Fiction Festival marks the birth of a new literary event in northern Finistère. With free admission, it is aimed at all lovers of crime fiction, whether they are avid readers or simply curious individuals eager to discover the richness of contemporary noir and the literary talents of Finistère.
