The rock, metal, and punk festival of Mayenne
The Laval Rock Fest is a festival dedicated to all varieties of rock, from blues rock to metal, including punk, held annually in Changé, on the outskirts of Laval in Mayenne. Created in 2018 by the association Fest'Rock and supported by the Laval-based band Octane, this popular, festive, and accessible event offers a program mixing local bands from Mayenne and recognized national artists. Located since 2023 in the Ondines hall in Changé, the festival offers intense evenings in an electric and friendly atmosphere.
The Laval Rock Fest was born in 2018 from the desire of the Laval rock band Octane and the association Fest'Rock to create a regular event for rock and metal music lovers in the Mayenne department. Since its first edition at La Fabrique in Bonchamp-lès-Laval, the festival has continued to grow, establishing itself as a must-see event on the rock scene in Western France.
The first three editions of the Laval Rock Fest took place at the La Fabrique hall in Bonchamp-lès-Laval, an emblematic venue of the local music scene. In 2023, for its fourth edition, the festival reached a new milestone by moving to the Les Ondines hall in Changé, a modern cultural facility offering optimal technical and reception conditions. This move allowed for a larger audience while maintaining the intimate and friendly spirit that defines the festival.
The Laval Rock Fest's programming is distinguished by its diversity within the rock universe. Each edition features a lineup of six to eight bands covering a wide spectrum: classic rock, hard rock, metal, punk, blues rock, and alternative rock. The festival makes it a point of honor to mix local bands from Mayenne like Octane, Inside the Inside, or The Haystacks, regional bands from Anjou and Nantes, and nationally renowned artists. The fourth edition notably hosted MohoVivi, a project bringing together two former members of the legendary band Trust.
True to its founding philosophy, the Laval Rock Fest aims to be a popular and accessible event. Prices are deliberately kept moderate, with low-cost advance tickets, to allow as many people as possible to enjoy a quality rock evening. On-site, festival-goers will find a bar and fast food to refuel between concerts. The warm atmosphere and the infectious energy of the crowd make each edition a moment of sharing and conviviality around music.
The Laval Rock Fest is fully integrated into the cultural and associative fabric of Mayenne. Organized by passionate volunteers, the festival contributes to the dynamism of the local music scene by offering a showcase for bands from the department and the Pays de la Loire region. It also enhances the cultural appeal of the Laval urban area by offering a quality musical event in a region often far from major tour circuits.
The 6th edition of Laval Rock Fest returns to the Salle des Ondines in Changé for another evening dedicated to all varieties of rock, from blues rock to metal.
The 6th edition of Laval Rock Fest is scheduled for October 2026 at the Salle des Ondines in Changé. The festival continues its mission to offer a popular, festive, and accessible rock event in Mayenne, with a program mixing local bands and established artists. The lineup and ticketing information will be announced later.
