An art and environment festival between Banyuls-sur-Mer and Collioure
Le Petit Festival de la Côte Vermeille is a multidisciplinary festival dedicated to art and the environment, founded in 2021 by the Compagnie Objet Direct and director Razerka Lavant. Located between Banyuls-sur-Mer and Collioure, it explores artistic and civic themes each year through a multi-year cycle. After a first cycle dedicated to the four elements (water, earth, air, fire) from 2021 to 2024, the festival begins a new four-year cycle in 2025 dedicated to time and temporality. Theatre, poetry, dance, music, conferences, and exhibitions blend together in a spirit of popular education and cultural democratization.
Le Petit Festival de la Côte Vermeille is a unique cultural event, nestled between vineyards and the Mediterranean, in the towns of Banyuls-sur-Mer and Collioure. Created in 2021 by the Compagnie Objet Direct and director Razerka Lavant, this multidisciplinary festival places the territory and its inhabitants at the heart of its artistic approach.
The festival is distinguished by its multi-year cycle approach. From 2021 to 2024, the first four editions explored the four natural elements: water, earth, air, and fire. Each edition resulted in original creations blending theatre, dance, music, poetry, conferences, and exhibitions, in connection with the Côte Vermeille territory and its environmental issues.
In 2025, the festival inaugurates a new four-year cycle dedicated to time and temporality, with the ambition to question our relationship with the past, present, and future through an artistic lens.
Le Petit Festival de la Côte Vermeille offers a rich and varied program, bringing together renowned artists and new creations. Among the participants of past and future editions are historian François Hartog, poet Jean-Pierre Siméon, actors Denis Lavant and Aurélia Thierrée, and musician Seb Martel. The performances take place in heritage sites such as the Château Royal de Collioure and the Salle Bartissol in Banyuls-sur-Mer.
True to its philosophy of giving a voice to the unheard, the festival builds bridges between art, science, and popular education. Collaborations with the Observatoire Océanologique de Banyuls-sur-Mer illustrate this desire to cross artistic and scientific perspectives on the Côte Vermeille territory.
2026 edition of Le Petit Festival de la Côte Vermeille, the second year of the cycle dedicated to time. The festival continues its artistic and environmental exploration between Banyuls-sur-Mer and Collioure.
Le Petit Festival de la Côte Vermeille returns for its sixth edition in the summer of 2026, continuing the thematic cycle dedicated to time inaugurated in 2025. The program will be announced in the spring of 2026 on the festival's official website.
