Les Estivales: Live art in a UNESCO city

Every summer, the medieval alleys and ramparts of Villefranche-de-Conflent come alive thanks to Les Estivales, a cultural program led by the Collectif LaClé. This Vauban-fortified city, a UNESCO World Heritage site and labeled "Most Beautiful Villages of France", offers an exceptional setting for intimate performances and artistic encounters.

A rich and varied program

Les Estivales offers an eclectic program: live performances, concerts, film screenings, storytelling, creative workshops, and guided tours. The performances take place in the city's heritage sites: ramparts, squares, chapels, and gardens, creating a unique symbiosis between contemporary creation and medieval heritage.

Collectif LaClé: A cultural third place

The Collectif LaClé is a shared workspace and resource center co-managed by artistic and technical structures. It hosts artist residencies, professional training, amateur workshops, and a performance season from October to May in its performance hall, complemented by the summer programming of Les Estivales in the ramparts and the village.

Spectacular highlights

Les Estivales punctuate the summer with remarkable highlights. During the Saint-Jacques festival in July, a monumental pyrotechnic show is presented at the Porte d'Espagne, combining flames, mystery, and artistic prowess in a striking medieval setting.
