A rock evening in the heart of Brenne
Le Printemps des Cerises is an open-air concert held annually in spring on the Place des Marronniers in Néons-sur-Creuse, a small village located in the heart of the Brenne Regional Natural Park, in southern Indre. Organized by the association AnimaNéons, which originated from the village's festival committee, this festive event offers an evening with three bands on stage in a rock'n'roll and punk atmosphere.
An eclectic and energetic program
Each edition of Le Printemps des Cerises offers a carefully curated program mixing rock, punk rock, and rock'n'roll. The evening usually begins with a local band that opens the show and ignites the square, before handing over the stage to two more established acts. Over the years, the festival has hosted bands such as Lemon Furia, Le Réparateur (described by Télérama as "the best punk rock band in the world"), Les Loco Locaux, and other formations from the French independent rock scene. The warm atmosphere is maintained by festive inter-concert entertainment that keeps the energy high throughout the evening.
An associative and friendly event
Le Printemps des Cerises is driven by the association AnimaNéons, which has also organized the famous Fête de la Marionnette (Puppet Festival) in Néons-sur-Creuse since 1999. The event is part of the "Musique et Théâtre au Pays" (Music and Theatre in the Region) initiative, funded by the Department of Indre and the Centre-Val de Loire Region, which aims to promote culture in rural areas. This initiative allows for quality concerts to be offered in an authentic village setting at a very affordable price.
A unique rural setting
The Place des Marronniers offers a natural and intimate setting for this spring musical gathering. A bar and light catering are available on site to accompany the evening. Néons-sur-Creuse, a commune in the canton of Le Blanc, benefits from exceptional natural heritage linked to the Brenne and the Creuse valley. Le Printemps des Cerises contributes to the cultural animation of this rural territory and attracts a loyal audience composed of residents from the Brenne region and music lovers from surrounding communes. It is a warm gathering that celebrates live music in a spirit of sharing and simplicity.
