Les 24H du Swing
Jazz marathon and swing dances in Monségur (Gironde), 36th edition
2026
About 24H du Swing
The 24 Hours of Swing is a jazz and swing dance festival organized every first weekend of July in Monségur, a medieval bastide in southeastern Gironde. Created in 1990 by the Office Monségurais de la Culture et des Loisirs, the event transforms the village center into a swing village for three days: concerts under the market hall, open-air dances under the lime trees, brass bands in the streets, Lindy Hop workshops, and a vintage atmosphere.
Each year, the festival welcomes international headliners of contemporary jazz and major traditional jazz ensembles, alongside swing dance orchestras. Dancers are at the heart of the event, with a dance floor of over 100 m² installed on the Place des Tilleuls, workshops led by international Lindy Hop professionals, and dances every evening.

Three days of jazz and swing dance in a medieval bastide
The 24 Hours of Swing takes over the bastide of Monségur, in Gironde, every first weekend of July. Conceived in 1990 by Michel Rostein and the OMCL (Office Monségurais de la Culture et des Loisirs), the festival is now run by the Bande Originale association and is one of the benchmark summer events for jazz and swing dance in the Southwest.
A double stage in the heart of the bastide
Concerts take place on two main stages: the Scène de la Halle, under the medieval market hall, hosts the festival's headliners and young musicians from Collège Éléonore de Provence. The Scène des Tilleuls, outdoors on the Place des Tilleuls, offers swing dances every evening, animated by specialized orchestras such as the Hot Sugar Band or the Hot Swing Sextet, with a large dance floor, a guinguette, and a ballroom.
Lindy Hop at the heart of the festival
Beyond the concerts, the festival gives pride of place to swing dance: dances every evening, brass bands wandering through the streets, intensive workshops in Lindy Hop, Solo Charleston, Blues, Balboa, and Shag led by international teachers (Hector & Sonia from Barcelona, Chloé & Peter, Audrey Caudan from Tap Swing Bordeaux). A free introduction to Charleston is offered on Sunday morning.
A program blending international jazz and the French scene
Each edition brings together internationally renowned pianists, French saxophonists of the new generation, big bands paying tribute to jazz greats (Duke Ellington, Eddy Louiss…), street brass bands from diverse backgrounds, and ensembles of young regional musicians. Concerts under the arcades of the market hall remain free to access.
A festival rooted in the Gironde territory
Located in Monségur, in the heart of the Entre-deux-Mers, the festival highlights the heritage of this 13th-century royal bastide and mobilizes the entire village: shopkeepers, associations, volunteers. It contributes to the tourist and cultural animation of eastern Gironde, halfway between Bordeaux and Marmande, in a renowned wine-growing rural area.
