The magic of open-air cinema in Lot-et-Garonne
Since 2020, the Cinémas au Clair de Lune festival has invited the inhabitants of Lot-et-Garonne to rediscover the seventh art in an exceptional setting. Organized by Écrans 47, the network of associative cinemas in the department founded in 2000, this summer event offers big-screen family film screenings in the open air, in remarkable heritage and natural sites scattered throughout the territory.
A traveling festival in the heart of the region
The originality of Cinémas au Clair de Lune lies in its traveling nature. Each summer, the cinemas of the Écrans 47 network relocate to iconic sites in the department:
- Le Pech de Berre in Nicole
- Le Château de Bonaguil in Fumel
- La Place de la Mairie in Castillonnès
- Le Parc Municipal in Casteljaloux
- Le Château de Cahuzac
- Le Château de Clermont-Dessous
- And many other sites across Lot-et-Garonne
This approach allows cinema to be brought closer to the inhabitants of rural areas, by offering a quality cultural program in towns that do not always have a cinema.
A family-friendly and accessible program
The festival's program focuses on recent family films, allowing all generations to share a cinematic moment together. From animated films to popular comedies, including touching dramas, the selection is designed to appeal to the widest audience. Among the films screened in previous editions, we find titles such as Vice Versa 2, Un P'tit Truc en Plus, Le Règne Animal, Calamity, and Kaamelott Premier Volet.
Each evening is enhanced by various activities before the screenings, creating a festive and friendly atmosphere. Screenings begin at nightfall, generally between 9 PM and 10:15 PM depending on the date and light conditions.

The festival relies on the dynamism of the associative cinemas that are members of Écrans 47, including:

These cinemas, labeled Art et Essai, handle ticketing and public reception at the screening sites, ensuring professional management of each session. Technical services are provided by L'Écran Livradais, a traveling partner of the network.

Cinémas au Clair de Lune benefits from the support of the Conseil départemental du Lot-et-Garonne, the Région Nouvelle-Aquitaine, the Direction régionale des affaires culturelles, and the host municipalities that provide their heritage sites for the screenings.
