A festival that crosses music and comic strips

Les Courants is a unique festival, born in the early 2000s in the Loire Valley, between Amboise and Montlouis-sur-Loire. Its particularity lies in the crossing of two artistic universes: contemporary music (rock, punk, reggae, chanson) and comic strips. This double programming offers festival-goers a rich and varied experience, from open-air concerts to meetings with authors and illustrators.

A committed musical program

On the music side, Les Courants offers a resolutely rock, punk, and reggae program, with incursions into French chanson and world music. Over the years, the festival has hosted renowned bands such as Ludwig Von 88, Danakil, Zoufris Maracas, Scarecrow, and Volodia. The emphasis is on discovery and emergence, with a significant place reserved for amateur artists and local bands.

Comic strips in the spotlight

The comic strip section of the festival offers dedication stands, introductory workshops, exhibitions, and meetings with about thirty authors, illustrators, scriptwriters, and colorists. This space dedicated to comic strips, integrated into the heart of the music festival, creates a unique atmosphere where universes meet and nourish each other.

A friendly festival on the banks of the Loire

Les Courants unfolds in a natural and friendly setting, on the banks of the Loire, between the towns of Amboise and Montlouis-sur-Loire. The atmosphere is relaxed and family-friendly, conducive to exchanges and discoveries. The festival offers catering areas, activities for children, and an associative village. Its human scale allows for a rare proximity between artists and the public.

Strong territorial roots

Supported by a team of passionate volunteers, Les Courants is part of the local cultural fabric of the Loire Valley. The festival contributes to the cultural animation of the territory and the promotion of local and emerging artists. Its positioning at the crossroads of music and visual arts makes it a unique event in the Touraine festival landscape.
