Les Festiv'été Musicales belong to the latter category. Since 1997, on the last weekend of June, the stadium of Moutiers-sous-Chantemerle — a commune of 700 souls in the north of Deux-Sèvres — transforms into an open-air music stage, hosting artists of popular music, rock, pop, and festive genres.

A Festival Born from Local Passion

The history of Les Festiv'été Musicales is that of a village that refuses to resign itself to summer torpor. In 1997, a group of music enthusiasts decided to set up a festival at the communal stadium, with the means at hand but boundless energy. The success was immediate: the inhabitants of Moutiers-sous-Chantemerle and the surrounding villages responded, seduced by the friendly atmosphere of the event and the quality of the programming.

The Stadium as a Stage: An Original Format

The choice of the communal stadium as the festival venue gives the event a unique character. The open space allows for a large stage, a catering area, and a relaxation corner, all in a green and rural setting. Festival-goers settle on the grass, enjoying the concerts under the starry sky of Deux-Sèvres, in an atmosphere reminiscent of old-fashioned village festivals, but better.
