The Feux de l'Humour is the humor festival of Plougastel-Daoulas, in Finistère, held annually at the Espace Avel Vor. Created in 2008 on the initiative of promoters, artists, and local elected officials, this festival has built a strong identity in the Breton humor scene over the years, skillfully blending the discovery of young talents with the programming of established artists.

The "Tremplin de l'Humour": A Talent Nursery

One of the particularities and prides of Les Feux de l'Humour is its "Tremplin de l'Humour", a competition open to young talents on the French comedy scene. Each year, the Tremplin receives over eighty applications, from which ten finalists are selected to take the stage at the Espace Avel Vor and perform their act before a jury of professionals and the public. This competition has become a real career accelerator for many comedians, offering them initial media exposure and connections within the performing arts professional network.

Humor Invades the Schools

Beyond the stage programming, the festival stands out for its educational and young audience component. Each year, two humor companies visit the primary and nursery schools of Plougastel to offer shows adapted for the younger ones. This initiative allows for the sensitization of hundreds of students to the art of laughter, live performance, and the stage, creating a link between the festival and the youth of the town.

A Program Balancing Discoveries and Headliners

The programming of Les Feux de l'Humour is structured around a balance between emerging artists and established comedians. The performance evenings feature one-man shows, comedy duos, stand-up shows, and various humorous performances. The 2025 edition notably hosted Guillermo Guiz and the show by Les Franglaises, confirming the festival's ability to attract renowned names from the national comedy scene.

The Espace Avel Vor: The Breton Laughter Venue

The Espace Avel Vor, a multidisciplinary cultural center in Plougastel-Daoulas located at 135 Route Santik Beneat, is the emblematic venue of the festival. This modern hall offers optimal reception conditions for artists and the public, with acoustics and comfort suitable for stage performances. The Espace Avel Vor also programs humor shows throughout the year, including the Plougastel Comedy Club, extending the festival''s spirit beyond its official dates.
