Les Folies Vocales d'Agen

A unique festival centered around the voice

Born in 2017 in Agen, the Les Folies Vocales festival is a major cultural event in Lot-et-Garonne entirely dedicated to the voice and vocal practices. Supported by the Folies Vocales association, this annual event was born from the desire of elected officials and cultural stakeholders in Agen, gathered during the Assises de la Culture, to create a festival capable of making the city of Agen shine through a universal art: singing.

A rich and eclectic program

The festival mixes voices in all genres and musical styles, from classical to jazz, including French chanson, world music, gospel, swing, salsa, and Balkan music, without ever forgetting humor. Each edition hosts national and international artists: The Flying Pickets, Juliette, Chanson Plus Bifluorée, Vocal Sampling, Les Grandes Gueules, and Les Cinq de Cœur have graced the stages of Agen.

Folies IN

The Folies IN section includes all the shows programmed in the concert halls and theaters of the Agenais urban area: the Théâtre Ducourneau, the Tannerie, the Le Galion hall in Foulayronnes, and the François Mitterrand cultural space in Boé. These ticketed performances offer high-level vocal shows in optimal acoustic conditions.

Folies OFF

The Festival OFF takes over the public spaces of Agen's city center for a weekend. Entirely free and outdoors, it offers the public spontaneous vocal performances, street concerts, and musical entertainment accessible to everyone. It's an opportunity to discover regional vocal ensembles and emerging artists in a festive and friendly atmosphere.

Folies d'à côté

The Folies d'à côté section specifically targets audiences far from cultural practices: schoolchildren, elderly people in residences, and people with disabilities. Adapted interventions and shows are organized to introduce these audiences to vocal music and live artists.

A commitment to all audiences

The main objective of Les Folies Vocales is to introduce all audiences, from toddlers to seniors, to culture and live artists. The festival champions an open and generous vision of vocal music, where every spectator can find a show to their liking, regardless of their age or musical preferences. The diversity of the programming — shows for young audiences, burlesque musical theater, vocal jazz concerts, revisited opera — reflects this commitment.

Nine editions of a vocal adventure

Since its creation in 2017, the festival has continued to grow. The 2020 edition, constrained by the pandemic, reinvented itself online with artist videos. In 2025, the 8th edition featured shows like “Piaf, je me fous du passé” and “New, la comédie musicale improvisée”. The 9th edition in 2026 will notably welcome B Vocal, L'Affaire Buckingham, Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme, Blond & Blond & Blond, and Paname Vintage.
