About Médiévales Thillombois
Médiévales Thillombois — edition 2026
ℹ️ No event in 2026. The Les Médiévales du château de Thillombois festival debuted on September 20th and 21st, 2025. For 2026, the Connaissance de la Meuse schedule does not include a medieval festival; instead, the 7th Equestrian Biennale will take place in the park from September 18th to 20th. The association intends to make Les Médiévales a biennial event, though no dates have been announced for the next edition.
No medieval festival at the castle in 2026
Connaissance de la Meuse has not scheduled Les Médiévales for 2026. The events page for the château de Thillombois lists only the Equestrian Biennale, a lecture, a Nougaro concert, a dining-in-the-dark experience, the Livres au château book fair, and a walk for the year. The 7th Equestrian Biennale will be held in the park on September 18th, 19th, and 20th.
The inaugural edition in September 2025
Les Médiévales launched on September 20th and 21st, 2025, two years after a one-day medieval festival was held at the same location. Over 130 costumed participants brought the park to life over the weekend, featuring a grand jousting tournament by the Compagnie Icario, buhurt combat by Lotharii Regnum, four encampments, two musical troupes, a wooden climbing tower, children's activities, and two medieval meals available by reservation.
Future plans
According to co-president Jean-Luc Demandre in Meuz'info in September 2025, the association hopes to "lay the foundations for a biennial event." No dates have been released for the next edition since then. For information, call 03 29 84 50 00 or email [email protected].

Total immersion in the Middle Ages
The Médiévales du Château de Thillombois offer a unique experience: two days of complete immersion in the Middle Ages. Organized by the association Connaissance de la Meuse, this event transforms the park and castle of Thillombois into a true living medieval village, with over 130 costumed participants animating the grounds from morning to night.
Knight Tournaments and Battles
The grand knight tournaments are the highlight of the event. The Compagnie Icario presents breathtaking jousts and equestrian demonstrations, several times a day. Armored combat, animated by the companies Lotharii Regnum and other reenactment troupes, offers an impressive display of medieval combat techniques.
Music and Shows
Musicians in period costumes roam the grounds, playing on copies of medieval instruments displayed inside the castle. Acrobats, jugglers, and jesters entertain in the park alleys, recreating the festive atmosphere of a medieval fair. A special show for young audiences, such as "The Secret of the Unicorn Goat", delights the little ones.
Encampments and Workshops
Numerous medieval encampments are set up in the castle park, offering a fascinating glimpse into daily life in the Middle Ages. Visitors can observe demonstrations of medieval cooking, archery, blacksmithing, weaving, and learn about the operation of a medieval cannon. Creative workshops allow children to discover the arts and crafts of the era.
Medieval Banquets
One of the event's highlights is the medieval banquet, served on Saturday evening and Sunday lunchtime by reservation. For €28 per adult and €13 per child, guests enjoy a menu inspired by medieval recipes, accompanied by drinks, in a festive and musical atmosphere. For those preferring a lighter option, a quick service area offers sandwiches, quiches, and crepes.
