An exceptional equestrian show

The Biennale Équestre du Château de Thillombois is one of the most prestigious cultural events in the Meuse department. Organized every two years by the association Connaissance de la Meuse, this event hosts internationally renowned equestrian artists in the majestic setting of the Château de Thillombois park, located between Verdun and Bar-le-Duc on the D121.

Three days of grandiose show

The biennale unfolds over three days in September, with performances organized according to a precise schedule. On Friday and Saturday evenings, doors open at 6:30 PM for a show start at 8:00 PM. On Sunday afternoon, doors open at 11:30 AM for a performance at 1:45 PM. Spectators are welcomed in two large grandstands set up around the stage area, offering a total capacity of 3,000 reserved seats per performance.

Internationally renowned artists

The biennale's program features top-tier equestrian companies. The 2024 edition (6th) notably hosted Clémence Faivre and the companies Jehol and L'Art au Galop. The staging combines equestrian prowess, choreography, live music, light effects, and sumptuous costumes, creating a total spectacle that transports the audience into a poetic and grandiose universe.

The Château de Thillombois

The Château de Thillombois offers a remarkable heritage setting for this event. Its vast wooded park is transformed into an open-air equestrian stage, where the beauty of the Meuse landscape blends with the magic of the show. The layout of the grandstands and the stage area respects this natural setting while offering optimal viewing conditions for spectators.

An event organized with care

The association Connaissance de la Meuse, a non-profit organization based in Verdun, presents this event with a constant focus on quality and accessibility. Seats are reserved and numbered, ensuring the comfort of each spectator. Catering services are available on-site: full meals at the restaurant or a quick option at the snack bar. Parking is free, and facilities are provided for people with reduced mobility.

The show goes on even in the rain

The biennale takes place in all weather conditions. In case of bad weather, the show is maintained, and organizers recommend that spectators bring rain gear. Umbrellas are, however, prohibited in the grandstands for visibility reasons.
