Classical music concerts at the Château de Beaumesnil
The Musicales de Beaumesnil offer a rare musical experience in one of Normandy's most beautiful castles. The Château de Beaumesnil, a masterpiece of 17th-century Baroque architecture, opens its salons and gardens to host classical music concerts in a setting of incomparable elegance. Piano, chamber music, opera, and vocal ensembles perform in these historic spaces where music resonates with remarkable natural acoustics.
The concerts are part of the Grandes Nocturnes of the Château de Beaumesnil, summer evening events that begin at 7 PM and continue late into the night. Beyond the music, these evenings offer a complete program: a gourmet market of local producers, artisanal food trucks, spit-roasted beef, candlelit theatrical tours of the château, garden games, and a 360° fireworks display around the château at 11 PM. The entire experience creates a magical and unforgettable atmosphere.
The musical highlight of the Nocturnes is the concert by "Les Voix de Normandie", a choral ensemble bringing together up to 300 choristers under the direction of conductor Franck Lecacheur. This monumental choir performs outdoors, facing the illuminated facade of the château, offering a grand vocal spectacle in a fairy-tale setting. Over 2,000 candles illuminate the pathways and gardens, creating an enchanting atmosphere.
Owned by the Fondation Fürstenberg, the Château de Beaumesnil is one of the most remarkable Baroque castles in France. Built between 1633 and 1640, it is distinguished by its brick and stone facade, its water-filled moat, and its French formal garden. Located less than ten minutes from Bernay and an hour from Évreux, it is a major heritage site in the Eure department.
Les Musicales de Beaumesnil favors a demanding yet accessible program, blending major classics of the repertoire with new discoveries. Pianists perform in the château's salons, creating a rare intimacy between the performer and the audience. The open-air concerts in the gardens offer a grand-scale experience, where music dialogues with the architecture and surrounding nature. The immersive candlelit theatrical tour of the château, by reservation, completes this exceptional cultural evening.
The Grandes Nocturnes of Château de Beaumesnil return in summer 2026 for two exceptional evenings, on Saturday, July 18th and Saturday, August 15th. From 7 PM, the baroque castle and its park will be lit by over 2,000 candles, featuring a concert by the Voix de Normandie, a market of local producers and artisans, a theatrical tour, and a grand fireworks display at 11 PM.
