Celtic music at the heart of a medieval castle
The Nuits Celtiques de Malbrouck offer a unique experience in Lorraine: two evenings of Celtic music in the majestic setting of the Château de Malbrouck, a medieval fortress from the 15th century perched on a hill in Manderen-Ritzing, in northern Moselle. Since 2022, this festival organized by the Department of Moselle celebrates the richness and vitality of Celtic music through an international program.
Three stages for total immersion
The castle transforms into a true multi-stage festival:
- The main courtyard: large-scale electric concerts with the festival's headliners
- The postern gate: intimate acoustic sets in a historic setting
- The tavern: musical sessions in the spirit of Irish and Scottish pubs
This setup allows festival-goers to navigate between different atmospheres while discovering the many facets of Celtic music.

The festival features bands from all over Europe and beyond:
- France: The Bards of Sweeney, Green Lads, Poppy Seeds, Talea, Luneris
- Scotland: Gnoss
- Sweden: Sir Reg
- Italy: Uncle Bard & The Dirty Bastards
Bagpipes, Celtic guitars, Irish flutes, violins, and bodhráns resonate within the castle walls, creating a festive and enchanting atmosphere.
Château de Malbrouck: a heritage gem
The Château de Malbrouck, built in 1419, is one of the best-preserved castles in Lorraine. Owned by the Department of Moselle, it hosts art exhibitions and cultural events throughout the year. Its imposing architecture, towers, and inner courtyards offer a spectacular setting for an outdoor music festival.

The 5th edition of Les Nuits Celtiques de Malbrouck will take place in July 2026 at the Château de Malbrouck. Celtic music concerts on three stages, acoustic sessions, and a tavern atmosphere will be featured. The lineup and exact dates will be announced in spring 2026.

Access
By car
The Château de Malbrouck is located in Manderen-Ritzing, about 45 km north of Metz and 20 km north of Thionville. Access via the A31 towards Luxembourg, exit Thionville, then the D64 towards Manderen via Sierck-les-Bains. Free parking at the foot of the castle. From Luxembourg, it takes about 30 minutes via the Mondorf or Schengen border crossing.
By public transport
No direct public transport service. Nearest SNCF train station: Thionville (20 km), served by TGV and TER. From Thionville, you need to take a taxi or arrange carpooling.

- Friday: 8:00 PM to 12:30 AM
- Saturday: 6:30 PM to 12:30 AM
Doors and bar open 30 minutes before the first concert.

- Full price: 20 euros per evening
- Reduced price: 10 euros (children aged 6 to 18, students, job seekers)
- Free: children under 6 years old

Accessibility
The castle is partially accessible to people with reduced mobility. Access from the parking lot requires climbing a slope. Contact the organization in advance for specific arrangements.

- Weather: concerts are held outdoors in the castle courtyard. Bring warm clothing for the evening, even in July.
- Getting home: concerts end after midnight, plan your return transport (no public transport late at night).
- Atmosphere: let yourself be carried away by the Celtic atmosphere, from the main courtyard to the tavern via the postern gate.
- Camping: no camping on site. Accommodation available in Sierck-les-Bains or Thionville.
