About Scènes de Bréhat

Les Scènes de Bréhat is a performing arts festival created in 2021 on Île-de-Bréhat, off the coast of Paimpol in Côtes-d'Armor. Organized each early July by the eponymous association, the festival takes over the island's Citadel and the Verreries de Bréhat to offer about fifteen shows over five days: theater, contemporary music, circus, classical music, storytelling, and dance. With a capacity of around 550 seats in an intimate and island setting, the festival offers a unique experience between art and nature, accessible thanks to additional evening crossings organized by the Vedettes de Bréhat.

Performing arts on the island of flowers

Created in 2021 by the association Les Scènes de Bréhat, the festival is a summer event dedicated to performing arts on the Île-de-Bréhat, a jewel of the Bréhat archipelago off the coast of Pointe de l'Arcouest. Every early July, for five days, the festival transforms the island's Citadel into an open-air cultural venue, offering about fifteen shows in various genres.

An eclectic program

The Les Scènes de Bréhat festival features:

  • Theater: plays and solo performances.
  • Contemporary music and classical music: concerts and recitals.
  • Circus: acts and contemporary circus shows.
  • Storytelling: storytelling evenings.
  • Dance: contemporary dance performances.

The program aims for artistic excellence in an intimate format, with a capacity of about 550 seats on bleachers set up in the Citadel's courtyard, equipped with professional sound and lighting.

A unique island experience

The Île-de-Bréhat, nicknamed the island of flowers for its mild climate and Mediterranean vegetation, offers a magical setting for the festival. Spectators can extend the experience thanks to the additional evening crossings organized by the Vedettes de Bréhat, allowing them to enjoy the evening shows. A food village welcomes festival-goers on site.
