Les Vendredis de la Halle: Musical Evenings by the Water

Created in 2021 by the City of Le Passage d'Agen, Les Vendredis de la Halle were born from the desire to offer quality summer cultural programming in an exceptional natural setting. Taking over from the Estivales de la Passerelle, this weekly event has quickly become a must-attend summer event in the Lot-et-Garonne region, attracting a loyal and ever-growing audience.

A Unique Setting by the Garonne

The festival takes place under the Halle of the Parc des Maisons Éclusières, a remarkable heritage site nestled on the banks of the Garonne, in a shaded green setting. This peaceful and bucolic site, located on Rue de la Garonne in Le Passage d'Agen, offers an ideal setting to enjoy open-air summer musical evenings. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, conducive to meeting and sharing.

An Eclectic and Demanding Program

Every Friday, from mid-July to the end of August, a free concert is offered starting at 9 PM. The programming is intended to be demanding and benevolent, designed in collaboration with artists and open to the world. It boldly mixes musical genres:

  • French Chanson with artists like Wallace (Erwan Naour, ex-Hurlements d'Léo), combining raw poetry and sophisticated arrangements
  • Jazz with the Lisa Jazz Trio led by Isabelle Durel, performing songs in French, English, and Lingala
  • World Music with Cuarteto Tafi (Latin-Argentine music, flamenco, and rock), Kalangata (Afro-Latin, Brazilian, and Cape Verdean sounds), or Paamath (folk-blues and African traditions)
  • Festive Rhythms with Jim Murple Memorial (Jamaican ska, calypso, and rocksteady)
  • Chanson and World Music with Floriane Tiozzo

A Friendly and Accessible Format

From 7 PM, the site opens its doors with food provided by food trucks and an associative bar. Spectators can enjoy an outdoor meal before the concert. The shows are seated, without reservation, in a spirit of gratuity and openness to all audiences, from families to seasoned music lovers.

A Cultural Commitment Supported by the City

Organized by the Cultural Action Department of the City of Le Passage d'Agen with the support of the Departmental Council of Lot-et-Garonne, Les Vendredis de la Halle embody a strong commitment to culture in urban and peri-urban areas. Rather than a simple night market, the event positions itself as a shared cultural experience, an invitation to experience summer differently, together, through music.

An Unmissable Summer Event

Since their creation in 2021, Les Vendredis de la Halle have continued to grow. The 5th edition in 2025 confirmed the success of the formula with six evenings rich in musical discoveries. The festival asserts itself as a major cultural event in the Agenais agglomeration, contributing to the influence and attractiveness of Le Passage d'Agen during the summer season.

Les Vendredis de la Halle — edition 2026
