Five evenings of shows by the Vienne river

Les Vendredis de l'Été is a series of five open-air shows organized each summer by the City of Confolens. Every Friday evening in July and August, the Arènes Crevelier, a natural amphitheater located in the heart of the town center and on the banks of the Vienne river, hosts a concert, a theater performance, or street arts for all audiences. This summer event is a continuation of the Ferme Saint-Michel cultural season, the municipality's cultural space.

An eclectic musical program

The program for Les Vendredis de l'Été celebrates musical diversity, mixing world music, folk, jazz, blues, rock, electro swing, Balkan music, and Celtic music. In 2025, festival-goers can discover Golden Parachute (ragga/folk/pirate), Jive me (vintage electro swing), Ej-ce-Hara (Balkan music), Moonlight Benjamin (blues rock/voodoo rhythms), and Green Lads (festive Celtic music), as well as PVC (folk/metal-hip hop/musette).

A convivial and supportive format

Concerts start at 8:30 PM, preceded from 7:00 PM by the opening of the Guinguette des Arènes, a food and drink area run by local associations or merchants. This "guinguette" format creates a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, inviting spectators to eat on-site before the show. The requested participation is symbolic: 1 euro per show, entirely donated to a charity.

The Arènes Crevelier, a natural setting

The Arènes Crevelier, located in the center of Confolens, offer an exceptional setting for Les Vendredis de l'Été. This open-air amphitheater, nestled on the banks of the Vienne river, benefits from natural acoustics and a panorama of the river that contributes to the magic of summer evenings. This unique venue is also used for other cultural events in the town, notably the famous Festival de Confolens.
