The biggest of the small festivals
Created in 1988 by the association Les Veyracomusies, this contemporary music festival has established itself over the decades as an unmissable event on the Limousin cultural scene. Located on the Mas Martin site in Veyrac, in Haute-Vienne, it welcomes nearly 8,000 festival-goers every year around Ascension weekend for four days of concerts, shows, and encounters.
The slogan "the biggest of the small festivals" perfectly summarizes the spirit of Les Veyracomusies. Entirely organized by about sixty volunteer members and hundreds of volunteers, the festival is based on an associative and solidarity model. It is the passion for sharing music and the love for the Limousin region that have kept this event alive for nearly forty years, far from the commercial logic of large festivals.
The strength of Les Veyracomusies lies in the diversity of its programming: French chanson, world music, rock, pop, slam, and shows for young audiences are featured on several stages. The Jean Ferrat hall hosts intimate concerts in the early evening, while the Grand Chapiteau (Big Top) vibrates to the rhythm of the headliners at night. Over the years, the festival has hosted artists as varied as Les Fatals Picards, Carmen Maria Vega, Volo, Les Goguettes, Fatoumata Diawara, and La Rue Kétanou.
Les Veyracomusies also features an artisanal and farmers' market, music discovery workshops, giant games, circus shows, and free street entertainment. The festival's "off" program allows everyone to enjoy the festive and rural atmosphere of the site, with local food and a friendly bar. This unique blend of culture, local produce, and popular celebration makes Les Veyracomusies an event rooted in the identity of Limousin, celebrated by all generations.
The biggest of the small festivals returns for its 38th edition on Ascension weekend, from May 13 to 16, 2026. The lineup promises to be exceptional with Luiza and Fatoumata Diawara under the Grand Chapiteau, La Rue Kétanou to close in style, Féloche and Agnès Bihl in the Jean Ferrat hall, as well as Marcia, Back To Queen, Sophie Les Bas Bleus, and Les Croquants. Free animations, an artisanal market, and shows for young audiences complete the program.
