About Les Zaccros

Created in 2001, the Les Zaccros d'ma Rue festival is the summer event for street and circus arts in Nevers. Supported by the ALARUE association, it offers a week of free shows in public spaces at the beginning of July. The festival takes over Nevers and the towns in the agglomeration with an inventive and joyful program mixing street theater, circus, and performances.

Les Zaccros d'ma Rue: The Street Arts Festival in Nevers

Each year at the beginning of July, the streets of Nevers come alive with street shows, contemporary circus, and the most inventive artistic performances. The festival Les Zaccros d'ma Rue, supported by the ALARUE association, transforms the city into a huge open-air stage for a whole week.

More than twenty-five years of creation in public spaces

Since its creation in 2001, the festival has continued to grow and diversify. What began as a local initiative has become a major cultural event in the Nièvre region, recognized for the quality of its programming and its local roots. The ALARUE association, located at 12 quai de Médine in Nevers, does more than just organize the festival: it supports resident companies throughout the year and conducts cultural mediation activities with diverse audiences.

A program for everyone

The festival offers a rich and varied program, designed for all ages and all tastes. Street theater, contemporary circus, dance, puppetry, music, visual performances, and artistic installations are presented in the streets and squares of Nevers. The first days of the festival (Monday to Thursday) are dedicated to exploring the towns in the agglomeration, before the heart of the festival beats in the city center of Nevers for the weekend.

Free and outdoor shows

True to its philosophy of cultural democratization, the festival offers all its shows for free and open access. This free access, combined with the diversity of the programming, makes Les Zaccros a truly popular and intergenerational event, where families, the curious, and enthusiasts gather in a festive and friendly atmosphere.

A festival rooted in its territory

Les Zaccros d'ma Rue is not limited to the city center of Nevers. The festival extends to the towns of the agglomeration, bringing street art closer to the residents. This territorial dimension is at the heart of ALARUE's artistic and cultural project, which believes in art's ability to create social bonds and animate public spaces.
