Lille's augmented humor festival, created by the founder of Montreux Comedy
Lillarious is a humor festival created in 2022 by Grégoire Furrer, founder of the Montreux Comedy Festival. For ten days between January and February, it takes over Lille's iconic venues to offer galas, debates, and shows centered around laughter. Founded on innovation, training, and anticipation, Lillarious explores humor in 360° as a laboratory for tomorrow's entertainment.
Lillarious was born in 2022 from the vision of Grégoire Furrer, creator of the Montreux Comedy Festival. By establishing this new humor festival in Lille, in the Hauts-de-France region, Furrer aimed to create a one-of-a-kind event: a festival that doesn't just program shows, but explores humor in all its facets.
Lillarious stands out for its multidimensional approach to humor. The festival is built on three pillars: innovation (exploring new forms of comedy), training (supporting emerging talents), and anticipation (reflecting on the role of laughter in tomorrow's society). Each edition thus offers a mix of galas, debates, conferences, workshops, and training sessions.
The festival unfolds in Lille's most prestigious venues: the Nouveau Siècle for major galas, the Théâtre Sébastopol for shows by established comedians, the Grand Mix in Tourcoing, and Les Enfants Terribles for more intimate formats and discoveries.
Since its creation, Lillarious has hosted renowned comedians and emerging talents. The 5th edition (2026) notably features a "Last Gala Before AI" exploring artificial intelligence and humor, as well as Élodie Poux, one of the top five ticket-selling performers in France.
True to its discovery mission, Lillarious annually presents a new talent competition and an open casting call, allowing young comedians to perform for industry professionals and a wide audience. The first edition notably innovated with virtual performances blending on-stage comedians with those connected remotely.
The 5th edition of Lillarious runs from January 30 to February 8, 2026. On the program: the "Last Gala Before AI" on January 30-31 at Nouveau Siècle, and Élodie Poux from February 5 to 7 at Théâtre Sébastopol.
The Lillarious festival returns for its 5th edition from January 30 to February 8, 2026. The program is structured around two major highlights: the "Last Gala Before AI" on January 30 and 31 at Nouveau Siècle, an evening exploring the theme of artificial intelligence and humor, and the shows by Élodie Poux ("Élodie Poux fait son cinéma") from February 5 to 7 at Théâtre Sébastopol.
For 10 days, the festival offers galas, debates, training, and shows in the iconic venues of Lille and its metropolitan area, true to its ambition to inspire, innovate, and bring people together through humor.
