The South Korean culture festival in Lille
Since 2022, the 1, 2, 3 Seollal festival has been making Lille vibrate with the colors of South Korea. Organized by the K-France association, this unique event in northern France celebrates Seollal, the Korean Lunar New Year, the country's most important traditional holiday.
Born modestly at Bazaar Saint-So with 900 visitors for its first edition, the festival has experienced meteoric growth. The second edition, organized at EuraTech, attracted 3,500 people. Since the 3rd edition, Lille Grand Palais has been hosting the event, providing a venue worthy of its ambition and growing audience.
The festival offers a complete immersion into Korean culture through numerous activities:
The festival's name is a nod to both the traditional Korean game '1, 2, 3 Sun' (mugunghwa kkochi pieotseumnida), popularized by the series Squid Game, and the celebration of the Lunar New Year. The K-France association, founded in Lys-lez-Lannoy, is dedicated to introducing and promoting South Korean culture to the French public, fostering intercultural exchange.
