From 2014 to 2024, the Les Brumes festival enlivened the commune of Sainte-Sigolène, in Haute-Loire, every first weekend of July. Located at the Complexe sportif du Pinet, in a green setting of a stadium surrounded by pine trees, this musical event had established itself as a summer highlight in Jeune Loire.
The Les Brumes association, created in October 2013, was the driving force behind this festival, entirely run by volunteers. About fifteen active members worked throughout the year on the organization, joined by approximately 90 volunteers on the day of the event. This collective energy and selfless commitment were the strength and authenticity of the event, which offered accessible prices (around 28 to 30 euros per evening) in a festive and friendly atmosphere.
The festival stood out for its varied program, designed to bring together all generations. Over its editions, Les Brumes hosted headliners from the French scene: Christophe Maé, Obispo, Kendji Girac, Jenifer, Julien Clerc, Bénabar, Terrenoire, but also iconic groups like Kyo, Matmatah, Sinsemilia, and Danakil. Evenings were often themed, alternating French variety and chanson on Saturdays with reggae or rock atmospheres on Fridays. Each evening generally featured four groups or artists, and free activities open to all were held on Saturday afternoons around the site.
Located in Sainte-Sigolène, a dynamic commune in Jeune Loire in Haute-Loire, the festival contributed for a decade to the cultural and economic influence of the region. Accessible from exit 39 of the RN88, near the Bas-en-Basset/Monistrol, Firminy, and Saint-Étienne train stations, the site benefited from two large free car parks. With an attendance of approximately 3,000 to 5,000 festival-goers, Les Brumes offered a human-scale, warm, and authentically Auvergnat experience.
After a 2024 edition held on July 5 and 6 (featuring Naâman, Jahneration, Matmatah, and Red Cardell), the Les Brumes festival was not renewed. Should a new edition ever be organized, information would be communicated on the official website lesbrumes.fr and the festival's social media channels.
