About Lot'Harpes

Created in 2019, the Lot'Harpes Spring Festival is a musical event organized every spring in Lacapelle-Marival, in the Lot region. Led by the Lot'Harpes association and directed by harpist Valérie Mazerie, this festival celebrates the harp in all its forms: Celtic harp, classical harp, Paraguayan harp, and world repertoires. Each edition features concerts mixing local artists and international guests at the Salle des fêtes in Lacapelle-Marival, at the foot of the medieval castle of this town in Ségala quercynois.

Lot'Harpes: Harp in the Spotlight in Quercy Country

The Lot'Harpes Spring Festival was born from the passion of a group of harpists from the Lot region, united around Valérie Mazerie, to share the richness and diversity of the harp with as many people as possible. Since 2019, the Lot'Harpes association has organized a spring festival of concerts in Lacapelle-Marival, a medieval town in the Lotois Ségala dominated by its imposing 13th-century castle.

A Harp Ensemble at the Heart of the Project

The Lot'Harpes association brings together an ensemble of six or more harpists who regularly perform in the Lot department and its surroundings. Under the direction of Valérie Mazerie, this ensemble offers an eclectic repertoire that travels through the musical traditions of the whole world: Celtic music, traditional tunes, contemporary compositions, and Latin music. The spring festival is the annual highlight of this activity, offering a showcase for the harp in all its diversity.

Guest Artists from Various Backgrounds

Each edition of the festival hosts renowned harpists from different musical worlds. The public has had the opportunity to discover Kévin Le Pennec, a leading figure in Celtic harp and "trad'actuelle" music, whose playing blends Breton traditions with personal creations, and Ismaël Ledesma, a virtuoso of the Paraguayan harp, an ambassador of Latin American music worldwide. These encounters between local artists and international guests are the richness and originality of the festival.

A Warm Atmosphere in the Heart of the Lot

The concerts take place at the Salle des fêtes de Lacapelle-Marival, a friendly venue that allows for a rare closeness between musicians and the audience. The small size of the hall encourages attentive listening and an intimate atmosphere, ideal for appreciating the delicate sounds of the harp. The festival is part of the cultural life of the Grand Figeac territory, contributing to the animation and influence of this part of Quercy.

A Festival Open to All

True to its mission of sharing, the Lot'Harpes Festival practices an accessible pricing policy: reduced price for under 18s and free admission for children under 12. The event is aimed at both discerning music lovers and families and the curious who wish to discover an instrument that is both ancient and resolutely modern.

Lot'Harpes — edition 2026

The 3rd edition of the Lot'Harpes Spring Festival was held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 8:30 PM at the Lacapelle-Marival church. The 2026 edition welcomed Italian harpist Adriano Sangineto for a musical journey through the multiple facets of the harp — classical or modern, soft or rhythmic, electric or acoustic — followed by a moment of conviviality with the audience. Free admission concert (free contribution), open to all audiences.

3rd Edition — Lot'Harpes Spring Festival 2026

For its 3rd edition, the Lot'Harpes Spring Festival offered a unique concert on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 8:30 PM, at the Lacapelle-Marival church. The festival welcomed Italian harpist, composer, and arranger Adriano Sangineto, an international figure in Celtic harp, who shared the full richness and diversity of his instrument.

A Musical Journey with Adriano Sangineto

Adriano Sangineto grew up in his father Michele Sangineto's luthier workshop, where he met great names in harp (Nicanor Zabaleta, Alan Stivell, Derek Bell, Carlos Núñez). Self-taught on the Celtic harp since 2002, he developed free experimentation across the most diverse repertoires: ancient music, classical, traditional European, new age, pop, and original creations. His discography includes several solo and trio albums (notably with Ensemble Sangineto and the Lyradanz project), and he has performed worldwide, from Europe to New Zealand, passing through the United States, Russia, and China.

A Concert Open to All

True to its vocation of sharing, this 2026 edition was offered with free admission (free contribution), allowing everyone — music lovers, families, the curious — to discover the harp in all its forms. The concert concluded with a moment of conviviality with the audience and the artists.

Venue for the 2026 Edition

The 2026 edition was held in the Lacapelle-Marival church, an acoustic setting conducive to listening to the delicate sounds of the harp — a change of venue compared to previous editions organized at the Salle des fêtes.
