The Lournand Festival: twenty years of live performances in the heart of Clunisois
Nestled in the charming village of Lournand, five minutes from the abbey town of Cluny and twenty-five minutes from Mâcon, the Lournand Festival has established itself as the unmissable summer event of Clunisois. Since its creation in the early 2000s, this live performance festival has won over an ever-growing audience thanks to a demanding and festive program, in a breathtaking bucolic setting.
A popular festival with multiple talents
For six days and nights, the village square of Lournand and new venues within the Clunisois community of communes are transformed into an open-air stage. The festival unfolds a remarkable artistic palette: theater, humor, acrobatics, dance, mime, puppetry, songs, and concerts follow one another for the greatest delight of spectators of all ages. From children's shows programmed during the day to lively evening concerts, every moment is designed to bring generations together.
The spirit of Clunisois
The Lournand Festival embodies the spirit of conviviality and sharing unique to Clunisois. Driven by the association Un p'tit air de Festival and animated by a team of dedicated volunteers, it brings culture to rural areas with generosity. The artistic direction of J.M. Debarbat guarantees a selection of professional companies from all over France, mixing established artists and emerging talents in a festive village atmosphere.
The exceptional natural setting of southern Burgundy, between vineyards and green hills, adds a unique dimension to each performance. Spectators take advantage of the long summer evenings to discover various artistic forms, share a drink with the artists, and savor the sweet life of Burgundy.
A springboard for live creation
Over the years, the Lournand Festival has forged special links with the network of live performance companies. It offers a valuable diffusion space for original creations and contributes to the cultural dynamism of the territory. Each summer, new companies join the adventure, bringing their unique universe and constantly renewing the festival's program.
Lournand Festival — edition 2026
The 26th edition of the Lournand Festival will take place from July 28 to August 2, 2026. Six days of live performances in the heart of the Clunisois region: masked theatre, acrobatics, music, clowns, singing, theatrical concert, poetic circus, world music, musical theatre, and brass band, all in the warm and friendly atmosphere that makes the festival famous. Numerous free events punctuate the week, in addition to the paid evening shows in Lournand and performances in Cluny and the villages of the Clunisois.
26th Edition — July 28 to August 2, 2026
The Lournand Festival returns for its 26th edition from July 28 to August 2, 2026. For six days, the village of Lournand, Cluny, and several communes in the Clunisois region (Jalogny, La Vineuse-sur-Frégande, Massilly) host a rich and diverse program of live performances: masked theatre, acrobatics, poetic circus, world music, song, musical theatre, and brass band. Afternoons are dedicated to shows for young audiences and all audiences touring the villages, while evenings feature shows and concerts in Lournand, extended by the festival's open-air café.
Many concerts and shows are offered free of charge, while evening shows in Lournand are paid. Tickets are available online on Billetweb, as well as at Lournand town hall.

By car: Lournand is located 5 minutes from Cluny via the D980, 25 minutes from Mâcon, and about 1 hour north of Lyon via the A6, Mâcon Sud exit. Free parking near the festival site.
By train: Mâcon-Loché TGV station is 30 minutes away by car. Cluny station is 5 minutes away.
