The rock and metal festival in the coldest village in France
The MaMouthe Festival is a rock and metal music festival organized every autumn in Mouthe, a famous commune in the Haut-Doubs known as the coldest village in France. Created in 2020, this human-sized festival offers a lineup mixing local bands from Franche-Comté and national artists, in the warm atmosphere of the Salle Polyvalente. With its raclette tartines, artisanal beer, and friendly spirit, the MaMouthe Festival has been warming up the autumn in the Doubs for five editions.
Since 2020, the MaMouthe Festival has been defying the temperatures by setting up every autumn in Mouthe, a legendary commune in the Haut-Doubs famous for recording the lowest temperatures in mainland France (-41°C in 1985). In the Salle Polyvalente of this mountain village, the festival offers an evening — and since 2025 a weekend — of rock, metal, and amplified music concerts that warm hearts and shake walls.
True to the spirit of independent festivals, the MaMouthe Festival focuses on a lineup that highlights the local scene of Franche-Comté while welcoming national artists. From its very first edition, the festival has shown its commitment to showcasing regional bands, in the spirit of the Metal in Franche-Comté community. Over the years, bands like The Rumpled (celtic rock with 5 million streams), Outrage, Frasque, Rhumlake, Warfaith, Moonsound, Malabar, and Kymris have graced the MaMouthe stage.
One of the hallmarks of the MaMouthe Festival is its friendly and authentic atmosphere. The food offers local specialties with the must-have raclette tartines (also available in a vegetarian version), accompanied by Bière des Cimes, an artisanal beer from the Alps. The spirit is that of an amplified village festival, where headbangers mingle with families in a good-natured and warm atmosphere.
After celebrating its 5th anniversary in 2024, the MaMouthe Festival reached a new milestone in 2025 by offering a two-day format (Saturday and Sunday) for the first time. This evolution reflects the festival's vitality and the growing public enthusiasm for this unique event, nestled at over 900 meters above sea level, amidst fir trees and Jura pastures.
7th edition of the MaMouthe Festival in Mouthe. The rock and metal festival of the coldest village in France returns in October 2026 to the Salle Polyvalente for a weekend of concerts and mountain conviviality.
The MaMouthe Festival returns on October 17 and 18, 2026, to the Salle Polyvalente de Mouthe for its 7th edition. True to its values of conviviality, authenticity, and showcasing the local scene, the MaMouthe Festival is establishing itself as a must-attend autumn event in the Haut-Doubs.
