About MaMouthe Festival

The MaMouthe Festival is a rock and metal music event held in Mouthe, in the Haut-Doubs region, organized by the Source Productions association. Born in 2020 from a group of local friends, the festival takes place over a single evening at the village hall, blending local bands from Franche-Comté with acts from further afield. It has seen six editions, the most recent being on October 18, 2025. The organizers have announced a hiatus for 2026, with a return planned for 2027.

On June 14, 2026, Source Productions posted the following message on the festival's Instagram account: "The MaMouthe Festival is taking a break in 2026. After 6 wonderful editions, unforgettable encounters, wild riffs, and endless good vibes, our team has decided to take a breather." The announcement confirms a return in 2027.

A rock and metal festival in Mouthe

The MaMouthe Festival is hosted at the village hall in Mouthe, a town in the Haut-Doubs often called "Little Siberia" due to its record-breaking cold temperatures. It was founded in 2020 by members of the Source Productions association who lived in the village and wanted to launch their own festival. The name is a play on the town's name and the mammoth, a cold-weather creature adopted as the festival's mascot. The first edition took place in winter on Saturday, February 22, 2020, while subsequent editions shifted to mid-October.

Rock and metal lineup

The festival runs for one evening, featuring five to six bands per edition. The inaugural event on February 22, 2020, brought together Turn Of The Century, Les Gais Montagnards, Lovedrive, Born Again, and Pornodiva. The 5th edition, held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, featured The Rumpled, Lovedrive, Fat Jeff, BlackRain, Kymris, and Moon Sound Malabar. The 6th edition, on Saturday, October 18, 2025, included Outrage, Frasque, Rhumlake, Warfaith, and Moon Sound Malabar.

On-site amenities

A bar and food service provided by the restaurant Le Chalet de la Source are available inside the hall, alongside a band merchandise stand. Payments are accepted in cash and by credit card.

Hiatus in 2026

On June 14, 2026, the association announced via the festival's Instagram account that there would be no edition this year, with plans to return in 2027.
