About Salon Vins & Fromages

Organized by the Association Œnologique Champagnolaise (AOC), the Salon Vins & Fromages in Champagnole brings together winemakers from all over France and exceptional cheese producers every autumn at the Oppidum complex. For over fifteen editions, this friendly event has offered tastings, food and wine pairing workshops led by professionals, as well as the discovery of local products: charcuterie, chocolate, and regional specialties. The fair highlights the know-how of Jura's cheese artisans, with the presence of Master Cheesemaker Marc Janin, an affineur from Champagnole.

The Salon Vins & Fromages in Champagnole: A Must-Visit Event in the Jura

For over fifteen years, the Salon Vins & Fromages in Champagnole has established itself as one of the major gastronomic events in the Jura department. Organized every autumn by the Association Œnologique Champagnolaise (AOC), this fair hosts winemakers from all over France as well as renowned cheese producers at the Oppidum complex, a vast exhibition space in the heart of the town.

A Fair Dedicated to Wine and Cheese Pairings

The originality of the Salon Vins & Fromages lies in its dual theme, which combines two pillars of French gastronomy. Visitors can taste a wide variety of wines—reds, whites, rosés, crémants—from the vineyards of Burgundy, Jura, the Rhône Valley, Bordeaux, Alsace, and elsewhere, while discovering AOP cheeses from the Jura massif: Comté, Morbier, Mont d'Or, Bleu de Gex, and many others.

Workshops Led by Experts

Each edition, the fair offers themed workshops led by professionals. Highlights include:

  • "Aromas and Flavors" Workshops led by Les Amis du Comté, to learn how to recognize the aromatic nuances of Jura cheeses
  • "Cheese and Wine Pairings" Workshops led by Master Cheesemaker Marc Janin, an affineur based in Champagnole, in partnership with oenologist Geoffrey Grandjean
  • "Chocolate and Wine Pairings" Workshops offered by the Tibochoc chocolate factory and Geoffrey Grandjean

A Showcase of French Terroir

Beyond wines and cheeses, the fair also hosts producers of artisanal charcuterie, chocolate, honey, and other regional specialties, offering visitors a complete panorama of gastronomic know-how. The exhibitors, selected for the quality of their products, passionately share their production methods and their attachment to the terroir.

A Friendly and Accessible Event

The Salon Vins & Fromages takes place over two days, Saturday and Sunday, in a warm and family-friendly atmosphere. Admission is open to all, and tastings are included in the entrance fee, allowing everyone to freely explore the exhibitors' stands and discover new flavors.

Champagnole, Gastronomic Capital of the Haut-Jura

Nestled in the heart of the Jura, the town of Champagnole is a natural crossroads between the plain and the Jura mountains. The Oppidum complex, which hosts the fair, offers a spacious and modern setting, ideally located to accommodate an event of this scale. The Salon Vins & Fromages contributes to the gastronomic influence of the town and the department, attracting visitors each year from across the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region and beyond.
