A booming festival on Proust's lands

Since its creation in 2019, Marcel Festoch' has continuously grown to become a must-attend musical event in Eure-et-Loir. Located at the Espace Florent d'Illiers in Illiers-Combray, a town world-renowned for inspiring Marcel Proust's Combray, the festival energizes this characterful village every late May with the sounds of contemporary music. The Marcel Festoch' association, chaired by Olivier Rialland and founded in December 2018, has successfully united a community of enthusiastic volunteers around an ambitious cultural project.

A festive and eclectic program

The strength of Marcel Festoch' lies in its intentionally diverse programming. Each edition features a lineup mixing pop-rock, French chanson, reggae, rap, electro, and funk, with renowned artists and promising discoveries. Over the years, the festival has hosted names like Joyce Jonathan, Féfé, Manau, Walshy Fire (Major Lazer), and Louis Bertignac, while also giving prominence to regional talents and emerging bands. This musical diversity, combined with a festive and relaxed atmosphere, appeals to an ever-widening audience.

Constantly increasing attendance

Marcel Festoch' boasts an impressive attendance curve. From its modest beginnings in 2019, the festival grew to 5,000 attendees in 2024, and then to a record of 7,200 attendees for its 5th edition in 2025. This growth reflects the quality of the programming, the efficiency of the organization, and the public's enthusiasm for this festive and accessible event. Word-of-mouth and audience loyalty contribute to this positive dynamic.

A cultural driver for the region

Beyond music, Marcel Festoch' plays a unifying role for Illiers-Combray and the Entre Beauce et Perche region. The festival contributes to the commune's economic dynamism by attracting thousands of visitors over a long weekend, benefiting local businesses, accommodations, and restaurants. The event also enhances Illiers-Combray's image as a vibrant cultural destination, complementing its Proustian literary heritage. Looking ahead to the 6th edition in 2026

Building on its success, Marcel Festoch' is already preparing its 6th edition, announced for May 29, 30, and 31, 2026. The festival continues to elevate its offerings while maintaining its friendly spirit and close connection with the audience, values that make it unique in the Eure-et-Loir festival scene.
