About Marche des Fiertés

Organized annually in June by Inter-LGBT, the Paris Pride March is the largest LGBTQI+ event in France and one of the most important in Europe. Since the first French march in 1981, the event gathers over a million people each year in the streets of Paris to defend the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and intersex people. A militant and festive march, it is the culmination of Pride Week, which offers dozens of cultural, political, and festive events throughout the capital.

Information

Full program for Pride Week (June 20-27) and the march on marchedesfiertes.org.

From the first march in 1981 to today

The first Pride March in France took place in 1981 in Paris, following the homosexual liberation movement born in the 1970s. Since then, the event has continued to grow, from a few hundred participants to over a million people parading through the streets of the capital each year. Organized by Inter-LGBT, a federation of over sixty associations, the march is both a militant act for equal rights and a popular celebration of the diversity and visibility of LGBTQI+ communities.

A procession in the heart of Paris

Each year, a large militant and festive procession crosses Paris to reach a final stage where concerts and speeches from associations follow one another. The itinerary and departure time are set and communicated annually by Inter-LGBT; they are published on the official website of the march as the event approaches. Since 2023, the march has taken place without motorized floats, as part of an environmental responsibility and decarbonization effort for the event.

2025 Edition

The 2025 edition of the Paris Pride March took place on Saturday, June 28, 2025. Over a million people participated in the procession, in both a militant and festive atmosphere, up to the Grand Stage which hosted concerts and speeches from Inter-LGBT member associations.

2026 Edition: Pride Week from June 20 to 27

The Paris Pride March 2026 will take place on Saturday, June 27, 2026, as the culmination of Pride Week, which will run from June 20 to 27. The route and departure time will be unveiled by Inter-LGBT on the official website of the march. Pride Week will offer political evenings, militant screenings, a music festival, Pride Run, and other events throughout the capital.

A militant and cultural commitment

Beyond the march itself, Inter-LGBT organizes awareness, advocacy, and solidarity actions throughout the year in favor of LGBTQI+ rights. Each edition of the march carries a political slogan collectively chosen by the member associations, recalling ongoing struggles: fight against discrimination, rights of transgender people, ART (Assisted Reproductive Technology), fight against LGBTphobias, international solidarity. The march is also a moment of visibility and celebration, with costumes, rainbow flags, and an atmosphere of shared joy.
