World Folklore Festival (Folkolor) in Montréjeau, Haute-Garonne
The Montréjeau International Folklore Festival, known as Folkolor, is a world folklore festival held every summer in Montréjeau, in the department of Haute-Garonne, Occitanie. Created in the 1950s, it brings together more than 200 artists from around the world each year to share dances, music, and popular traditions. The 2026 edition will be the 66th of the festival.
Every summer, Montréjeau transforms into a true crossroads of cultures, colors, and rhythms with Folkolor, the world folklore festival. Created in the 1950s, this event is one of the oldest folklore festivals in France and an unmissable event in the cultural life of Haute-Garonne and Occitanie.
Each year, the festival brings together more than 200 artists and dancers from all horizons to share the soul of their traditions and creations, from the most authentic folklore to more contemporary sounds. The invited groups present their traditional dances, costumes, and music in an atmosphere of fraternity and sharing among peoples.
The event offers a varied program: open-air concerts and shows, colorful parades of folk groups in the streets of Montréjeau, workshops, exhibitions, and activities for all audiences. Most daytime activities and street parades are free to access, while the main evening shows are held at the village hall.
Folkolor is a festival affiliated with CIOFF France (International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Traditional Arts), an official partner organization of UNESCO. Organized by the Organizing Committee of the Montréjeau International Folklore Festival, it promotes intangible cultural heritage and popular traditions from around the world in the heart of Comminges.

The 66th edition of the Montréjeau International Folk Festival (Folkolor) will take place from August 14 to 17, 2026 in Montréjeau, in the Haute-Garonne department. For four days, over 200 artists, dancers, and musicians from several continents will make Montréjeau a crossroads of popular cultures and traditions.
On the program: colorful parades of folk groups in the city center streets, evening shows at the village hall (salle des fêtes), activities, workshops, and exhibitions open to all. The selection of invited groups for 2026 is underway; the detailed day-by-day program will be published by the organizer closer to the festival on the official website festivalmontrejeau.fr.

Most daytime activities and street parades are free. Evening shows at the village hall are paid (10 € per evening, special price for the closing show).
