Trail running and nature race in the heart of the Morvan Regional Natural Park
The Morvan Oxygen Trail is a major sporting event that brings together trail running and nature race enthusiasts every end of June in the magnificent setting of the Morvan Regional Natural Park. Starting from Château-Chinon, the capital of Morvan, runners set off on forest trails, ridge paths, and woodland tracks offering breathtaking landscapes.

A unique feature of the event is the 15 km night trail, starting at 10:30 PM. This night race through the forests of Morvan, illuminated by runners' headlamps, offers a unique and magical sensory experience.

Château-Chinon is the historic "capital" of Morvan, perched at 600 meters above sea level on a rocky outcrop overlooking the Yonne valley. The town, famous for being the political stronghold of François Mitterrand, offers an exceptional panorama of the wooded hills of Morvan, an ideal setting for a mountain trail.
Château-Chinon is located in the center of Morvan, 65 km southeast of Nevers.

Château-Chinon and its surroundings offer a varied choice of accommodation: hotels, bed and breakfasts, rural gites, and seasonal rentals. It is strongly advised to book in advance, especially during the event period, as accommodation capacity can be quickly saturated. Food stalls and a refreshment bar are usually available at the event site. The restaurants, bars, and food shops in Château-Chinon are also open and offer local cuisine highlighting products from the Nièvre and Burgundy regions.
Wear comfortable shoes suitable for walking, as most activities take place outdoors. Depending on the season, consider bringing sunscreen and a hat in summer, or warm and waterproof clothing in autumn and winter. A light backpack can be useful for carrying your purchases and personal belongings.
