The Louvre-Lens piano festival where the museum vibrates to the rhythm of music
Muse & Piano is a classical music and piano festival organized annually at the Louvre-Lens, co-produced by the ALVB association and the Louvre-Lens museum. Since its creation in 2016, this three-day festival invites internationally renowned pianists and young talents to perform in the museum's spaces: from the Stage to the Glass Pavilion, from the Gallery of Time to the hall and the media library. The festival combines piano recitals, chamber music, piano duets, and cross-disciplinary performances between art and music.
Since 2016, the Muse & Piano festival has become one of the Louvre-Lens's flagship musical events. Co-produced by the ALVB association and the Louvre-Lens, in partnership with Yamaha, Scala Music, Radio Classique, and the circle of friends of ALVB, this three-day festival transforms the museum into an exceptional musical setting.
The strength of Muse & Piano lies in the meeting between music and museum spaces. The concerts take place in emblematic locations of the Louvre-Lens:
In ten editions, Muse & Piano has hosted world-renowned pianists alongside promising young talents. The 2025 edition, celebrating the festival's 10th anniversary, brings together fourteen musicians including Florian Noack, Mari Kodama, the Agate Quartet, Michel Béroff, Marie-Josèphe Jude, Jodyline Gallavardin, and John Gade.
The Muse & Piano program is not limited to classical piano recitals. The festival explores all facets of the piano:
Inaugurated in 2012, the Louvre-Lens is the Louvre Museum's outpost in the Pas-de-Calais mining basin. Its contemporary architecture designed by SANAA, bathed in natural light, offers an exceptional acoustic and aesthetic setting for the Muse & Piano concerts. The festival contributes to the museum's mission: making art and culture accessible to all.
11th edition of Muse & Piano at the Louvre-Lens. Dates and program to be confirmed. Piano recitals, chamber music, and concerts in the museum's spaces.
Muse & Piano takes place at the Louvre-Lens, 99 rue Paul Bert, 62300 Lens. Concerts are held in several emblematic museum spaces: the Stage (performance hall), the Glass Pavilion (bright space for daytime recitals), the Gallery of Time (3,000 m² amidst masterpieces), the hall, and the media library. This diversity of locations creates unique musical atmospheres and offers an immersive experience blending art and music.
Ticketing opens online on the Louvre-Lens website and at the museum's ticket office. Booking in advance is highly recommended, as the most anticipated concerts sell out quickly.
The festival takes place annually in September, over three days (Friday, Saturday, Sunday). Concerts run from morning to evening, with daytime recitals in the Glass Pavilion and major evening concerts on the Stage.
The Louvre-Lens is fully accessible to people with reduced mobility. PMR spaces are reserved in each concert venue. For any specific requests, please contact the museum before the festival.
The Louvre-Lens also offers visits to its exhibitions (the Gallery of Time is free access). The museum park, designed by landscape architect Catherine Mosbach, offers a pleasant setting for a stroll between concerts.
