The Fête de la Musique in Agde
As everywhere in France since 1982, every June 21, the Fête de la Musique transforms the black pearl of the Mediterranean into a large open-air stage. In Agde, music freely takes over public spaces in the early evening, in all genres and for all audiences, from dusk until late into the night.
A festival across four areas
An Agde specialty: the festival usually takes place across four sites in the territory — the historic city center of Agde, the resort of Cap d'Agde, Grau d'Agde, and La Tamarissière. On the Rambla du Soleil, the central port quays, Place du Jeu de Ballon, Place de la Marine, Place Jean-Jaurès, or Place des Mûriers, strolling brass bands, open stages, and concerts follow one another. Styles coexist without hierarchy: New Orleans jazz, samba, flamenco, musette, disco, funk, and pop-rock.
