About Music Festival in Angoulême
Every June 21, Angoulême celebrates the Fête de la Musique: amateur musicians, local bands, and guest artists play for free in the streets, squares, bars, and cultural venues of the city center. Organized by the City of Angoulême, the day is entirely free and continues until the heart of the night.
The Fête de la Musique in Angoulême
As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the city of Angoulême into an open-air stage every June 21. Music freely takes over public spaces, with concerts from the afternoon until late at night, in all genres and for all audiences.
A celebration throughout the city center
Usually, numerous stages are set up in the streets of Angoulême's center: you'll find open-air concerts by local bands and guest artists, entertainment in bars and cultural venues, as well as initiatives led by shopkeepers, associations, and residents. The City launches a call for applications each year to animate public spaces on June 21.
