About Music Festival in Arras
Every June 21, Arras celebrates the Fête de la Musique (Music Festival): amateur groups, music schools, and professional artists freely take over the squares, streets, and forecourts of the city center. Organized by the City of Arras, the day is entirely free and features all styles, from rock to French chanson, electro, blues, folk, and brass bands.
The Fête de la Musique in Arras
As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the city of Arras into an open-air stage every June 21. Music freely takes over public spaces, from early evening until late at night, in all genres and for all audiences.
A festival at the heart of the city
Usually, concerts spread from the historic center to the Place de la Préfecture, with numerous stages set up in squares and forecourts. The famous Grand'Place and the forecourt of Saint-Vaast Cathedral are among the highlights of the evening, hosting pop-rock, electro, blues, folk, funk, French chanson, and brass bands.
