As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the city of Castelsarrasin, sub-prefecture of Tarn-et-Garonne, into an open-air stage every June 21. On the occasion of the summer solstice, music freely takes over public spaces, with open-air concerts open to all genres and all audiences.
A musical evening in the heart of the city
Usually, the festival brings together the musical talents of the commune: the Orchestre à l'École from Simone Veil school, the Municipal Harmony Orchestra, music school students, and local groups take turns on stages set up in the city center, particularly in the media library courtyard and the city gardens. Bars and restaurants extend the atmosphere with concerts on their terraces.
