About Music Festival in Digne-les-Bains
Every June 21, Digne-les-Bains celebrates the Fête de la Musique (Music Festival): amateur musicians, conservatory students, and invited groups play for free in the squares and along boulevard Gassendi, in the heart of the prefecture of Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. Organized by the City of Digne-les-Bains, the evening is entirely free and blends all styles, from pop-rock to world music.
The Fête de la Musique in Digne-les-Bains
As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the city of Digne-les-Bains into an open-air stage every June 21. Music freely takes over public spaces, from early evening until late at night, in all genres and for all audiences.
A festival in the heart of the city center
Usually, several stages are set up in the old town center: Place Général de Gaulle, Cours des Arès, Place du Marché, Place de la Barlette, Place de la Fabrique, and boulevard Gassendi host open-air concerts. The city's bars and restaurants extend the celebration onto their terraces, and the program usually features pop-rock, chanson, world music, percussion, and electro sets.
