About Music Festival in Istres
Every June 21, Istres celebrates the Fête de la Musique: about ten stages are set up in the streets and squares of the city center, where amateur musicians and local bands play for free outdoors. Organized by the City of Istres, the evening is entirely free and mixes all genres, from jazz to pop, salsa to electro, French chanson to folk.
Music Festival in Istres — edition 2026
For 2026, the Fête de la Musique in Istres is being held on Friday, June 26, to avoid conflicting with the local feria taking place from June 19 to 21. Ten stages will be set up in the city center from 7:00 PM to midnight, featuring local bands and a wide range of styles from jazz to post-punk, and salsa to electro. Free and open to all.

The Fête de la Musique in Istres takes over the city center with around ten free stages set up across squares, boulevards, and plazas. Organized by the City of Istres, the event highlights local bands, municipal ensembles, and students from the conservatory. A wide variety of genres will be represented, including jazz, rock, reggae, salsa, French chanson, electro, and pop.
While the national date is June 21, the City has exceptionally moved the celebration to June 26 in 2026 to avoid overlapping with the local féria (June 19, 20, and 21).
