About Music Festival in Laval
Every June 21, Laval celebrates the Fête de la Musique (Music Festival): local bands, choirs, and guest artists perform for free in squares, streets, and in the heart of the city center. Organized by the City of Laval and the contemporary music venue 6PAR4, the evening is entirely free and open to everyone, all styles combined.
The Fête de la Musique in Laval
As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the prefecture of Mayenne into an open-air stage every June 21. Music freely takes over public spaces, from early evening until the heart of the night, in all genres and for all audiences.
A festival in the heart of the city center
Usually, the main stage of the festival is set up on the redeveloped Place du 11-Novembre, with a concert program organized by the contemporary music venue 6PAR4, in partnership with the City of Laval. Another stage takes place in Square Foch, while local bands and choirs animate the rest of the city center and numerous bars and restaurants extend the celebration.
