Every June 21st, Pau celebrates the Fête de la Musique (Music Festival): amateur musicians, conservatory students, and professional artists play for free in the streets, squares, and parks of the city center. From Square Georges V to Place Royale, passing through Parc Beaumont and Les Halles, the day is entirely free and blends all styles, from jazz to soul, brass to rock, and world music.

The 2026 Fête de la Musique in Pau takes place on Sunday, June 21st, with free events throughout the city center. The day kicks off at 9:00 AM at Parc Beaumont with "Bulles en musique," a music festival for children, followed by a series of performances across town from 6:00 PM to midnight. The festivities begin at Place Royale with the batucada groups Les 400 Coups and L'Étoile Métisse, followed by sets from Ricky Amigos, Groove Syndicate, Three Pieces of Trash, The SuperSoul Brothers, Molotov Brothers, Vintage Raptor, and the KKC Orchestra x Collectif Passatges en Coserans. A celebration throughout the Béarn city center
Concerts and roving performances are spread across several iconic locations in downtown Pau: Square George V (Square Aragon), Place Récaborde, Place Royale, the Halles de Pau, the Musée des Beaux-Arts esplanade, Place de la Déportation, Place Reine Marguerite, and Parc Beaumont. The Conservatory and local music schools are at the heart of the festivities, with ensembles featuring nearly 200 young musicians.
The program, which highlights local and emerging artists, brings together a variety of styles: roving brass bands and Brazilian batucadas, jazz and horns, soul-funk, rock and pop-rock, rap, electro, and world music. A musical and sensory morning session, "Bulles en musique," is also offered for toddlers at the Parc Beaumont bandstand, and many bars, terraces, and cultural venues throughout the center keep the party going late into the night.
